I have a 7 year old and an almost 5 year old.
Really? How can it be?
Wasn’t it just a few months ago that I was bringing home my baby girl for the very first time?
Wasn’t it just last week that I was sitting on the couch next to my little 2.5 year old as she “held” her brand new baby brother?
Wasn’t it just a few days ago that Jake – at 9.5 months old – was taking his first steps?
Or wasn’t it just yesterday that B was losing her very first tooth?
While each individual day may seem never-ending at times, these moments with our children pass all too quickly. It quite literally takes my breath away to think that in a few short years my “babies” won’t be so interested in holding my hand, sleeping in Mommy’s bed, or snuggling in a “mommy cave”. Things and people will come into their lives that will take precedence over me. I have to savor these moments. I have to burn them into my memory. I have to Remember This.
A few wonderful photographers who just happen to be friends of mine decided to create a circle of blogs dedicated to documenting these fleeting times in our lives. Each month we’ll post images that are near and dear to our hearts. They may be gorgeous, well thought out photo sessions or (as in my case!) they may just be quick iPhone snappies. My phone is never far away and Instagram is one of my best friends (if you don’t already follow my kiddos’ crazy antics on Instagram you can find me – just look up heatherlatimer). At the end of each month’s Remember This post, I’ll link you to another great photographer’s monthly post so you can catch a sneak peek into their crazy lives too.
This past month was full of insanity. My husband was away for two weeks in Japan. I never realized just how much I needed him until he was gone. It was a hard two weeks, and we missed him like crazy. B probably more so than anyone. She cried so hard when he left and was just ecstatic when we picked him up at the airport. What a difference two weeks makes.

The rest of the month was full of everyday normals like grocery shopping, kitty love, 5 minute hand-holding punishment, a new electric sweeper, the release of Taylor Swift’s RED, vocabulary dress-up day at school, and some fun Halloween costumes straight from Japan.

Now, head on over to my great friend, Cherron’s blog and see her Remember This post.
